Stereo Coffee Roasters

How do you stand out in a crowd of coffee companies? By turning up the volume.

While it’s always a pleasure to work with repeat clients, the pressure to recreate the initial success on a new project can often be turned up to the max. Geoff Polci, the owner of Crema Coffee — a café whose brand identity we created in 2006 — commissioned us to develop a brand package including the company’s identity, stationery, coffee bag and t-shirt designs, and mugs for his new venture, Stereo Coffee Roasters. Inspired by 80s music culture, we built our design foundation on bold, striking graphics to highlight the multidimensional nature of sound. In an industry filled with boutique coffee brands, it was important to us to create a visual identity that would immediately stand out on shelves. We achieved this with abstract graphics and an energetic colour palette based on 80s audio equipment and products including record covers, audio tape packaging, and iconic Walkman packaging. We are currently working on the Stereo website to complement the look developed for the print identity and are confident the finished product will be totally rad and just what coffee lovers are looking for in a unique, small-batch brand.
