Indigenous Fashion Week How do we get audiences and the fashion industry on board with ‘think green’ initiatives? By starting the conversation. Beehive has a long history working with indigenous groups within the fashion and arts sector. Over the years, we have become passionate about eliminating cultural appropriation and creating an environment that’s sensitive to indigenous culture. Indigenous Fashion Week Toronto is a multi-platform event presenting distinct and progressive Indigenous-made fashion, craft and textiles. The Director of IFWTO, Sage Paul, is a trusted client of ours, and after working together on many projects for the indigenous community, she got in touch with us to create the branding for her three-day fashion event. Beehive developed the brand identity, stationary and program guide designed in a newspaper format. In the indigenous culture, the moon is used as a significant symbol that represents seasons and the natural cycle. Our vision was to highlight the natural element of the moon illustrating the various cycles and transition it goes through, which can be seen in the event’s logo. Beehive has experience working with this fashion subject matter as well as big events, so we were able to handle the event from both ends. Client:Indigenous Fashion Week Services:Print & Brand Design
