How do you conceptualize one design for a variety of cultural experiences? Through creativity and understanding.

As our longest standing client, the imagineNATIVE Film & Media Arts Festival continually challenges us to illustrate the unique facets of the Native diaspora in a way that’s easily transferrable across all festival pieces.Each year we conceptualize the design theme based on show content to ensure cohesiveness across print and digital collateral, making sure to  pay special attention to representing the diaspora with authenticity and respect.

For the 17th edition of the festival, we focused our design research on the use and importance of beads, bead artistry and beading technique within Native groups, creating a cover design that features thousands of tiny beads arranged to build a larger image. Working closely with festival organizers to ensure cultural relevance and suitability, we ultimately created collateral that was both traditional and modern, while being distinctly artistic.
